Why the BVN Matters
The BVN links all your bank accounts to your biometric identity, helping banks prevent fraud and helping you verify your financial identity across institutions.
Check BVN with the GTBank App
Log in to the GTWorld app, open your profile or 'My Details' section, and your BVN is shown for your linked accounts. It may ask you to verify with a PIN/biometric first.
Check BVN with USSD
Dial *565*0# on the phone number linked to your account — the service returns your BVN (network charges apply). Always use the official code from GTBank.
Check BVN via Internet Banking
Log in to GTBank internet banking and view your account profile to see the BVN on file.
Check BVN In-Branch
Visit any GTBank branch with your valid ID. Security: never send your BVN, OTP or PIN to anyone who messages you claiming to be the bank.
Troubleshooting
If your number is not linked to your account, update it in the app or branch first. If your BVN is wrong, contact NIMC/your bank to correct your biometric details before new account openings.
